St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) is on the same mission. It was established in 1968 as an extension of St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, which was founded in 1882 by the Jesuit Fathers. The aim of SJIM was to provide quality education in management and promote a holistic approach to management education.
Over the years, SJIM has continued to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of the business world. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business management and prepare them for leadership roles in the corporate world. The institute has expanded its program offerings, and it now offers a two-year full-time six-term intense Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program, which is equivalent to MBA.
Approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, in 1996, the Institute prepares students for corporate and business industries specializing in Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR and Supply Chain Management. SJIM is one of the first Business Schools in Karnataka State.

SJIM has so far trained more than 10,000 professionals over the years and continues to expand its wings with its academic excellence and Jesuit ethos of people from diverse backgrounds from all over India. With St Joseph’s as its brand name, SJIM is one of the sister concerns of BJES, which also runs other institutions in Bangalore, SJU, SJCC, SJCL, etc.

Developing Industry-ready Graduates
Under the leadership of Dr Manoj as director, SJIM secured NBA accreditation and became a member of AACSB; student placement continued to enjoy 100 per cent and recognized PGDM program equivalent to MBA by AIU, Govt of India, collaboration with foreign universities increased tremendously.
The program objectives set by the institute are as follows:

Facilitating Active Learning
During the COVID-19 times, all classes of SJIM were held at a hybrid level. Even now, some of the course materials are delivered hybrid level in addition to classroom teaching.
SJIM facilitates its students to actively participate in classroom education by joining various clubs, for example, the academic club, finance club, marketing club, human resources club, operations club, entrepreneurship club, etc.
SJIM believes in the holistic development of the person. Hence, there are several extracurricular activities organized by the students themselves, with faculty members as mentors. Some of them are Verve, Pinnacle, workshops and seminars, B-Plan competition, and CSR activities along with the Fr Rebello Basketball tournament, Joseph’s premier league, as well as national holidays and regional feasts, are celebrated with gusto, which enables students to participate and organize various events.
