Tamil Nadu Relaxes Aspirant Teacher’s Upper Age Limit by Five Years
Tamil Nadu education

In light of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Tamil Nadu school education department decreased the upper age restriction for teacher recruitment by five years, on Monday.

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) announced the upper age limit for general category applicants as 40 years and for reserved categories as 45 years, in a notification released on September 9 for postgraduate teacher recruitment.

On September 13, the state government issued an order lowering the age limit for direct recruitment by two years.

Considering the pandemic, teacher aspirants petitioned the school education department to waive the higher age restriction because the board had not held any recruitment exams in the previous two years.
