The Gujarat education department has introduced 589 new government and grant-in-aid higher secondary and secondary vocational schools in the current year.
These schools will offer 13 new vocational skills to the students. The admission application will start in September and October.
All these schools are approved by the Government of India’s Samagra Shiksha under the NEP (National Education Policy) 2020. The primary aim is to provide professional knowledge to the students and various vocational skill opportunities.
All these 589 schools will majorly provide lectures in Gujarati medium to promote the regional language.
The Education Minister Jitu Vaghani said that “the new 13 vocational schools will teach agriculture, apparel, made-ups and home furnishings, beauty and wellness, food processing, automotive, electronics, IT/ITES, BFSI, plumber, health care and hospitality and tourism, retail, fitness and leisure, physical education, sports.”
