After a special meeting of the Union Local Board Education, masks are mandated in the Union Local School District. The meeting was held to review the Covid-19 policies during the resurging delta variant. The meeting lasted for three hours with unanimous vote to mandate masks.

All students, teachers, and the non-teaching staff are required to wear masks in the school with immediate effect. Before the start of the school year, the board had decided to make masking optional. However, looking at the sharp increase in corona cases, the board changed its previous policy.
