Established in 2009, Vijaya Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences for Women (VIPW) focuses on young aspirant women enrolled for graduate and post-graduate courses in B. Pharm, M. Pharm, Pharm D and Pharm D (PB) and guides them to have an extraordinary career. The institution is recognized by AICTE, approved by PCI and affliated to JNTUK, Kakinada. It is also an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute and has a MoU with Govt. General Hospital Vijayawada, A.P for Clinical Training of Pharm D Students. It addresses a wide range of diversified educational needs of the students to bridge the gap between industry and academia through workshops, seminars, and industry training programs in tune with the emerging health-care industry. These interactive sessions serve as a platform for exchange of information, expanding the horizons of their knowledge.

It organizes Training Programs on Personality Development, Soft Skills, Pharmaceutical Management Skills, Campus Recruitment & Training and Certification Courses on Clinical Data Management, Pharmacovigilance SAS Training (Statistical Analysis System) and Medical Coding.

Learning becomes an enjoyable experience with state of the art infrastructure; research center; well-equipped laboratories; smart classrooms; internet facility; central library with access to online journals; sports club; yoga kendra; and literary association.

Promoting Creativity and Social Welfare through Extra-Curricular Activities

VIPW not only intends to achieve educational excellence, but also promotes creativity, social welfare and extra- curricular activities. The college annual magazine, VEPA is an endeavour of the creative insights of students. The quarterly Pharma newsletter, SANJIVINI discusses the new trends in the field of Pharma industry and clinical approaches. As per the instructions of the Government of India and Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), the college runs a Janaushadhi Medical Store, offering quality generic medicine available at affordable prices.

The NSS Unit of the institute is dynamic and has active participation in government initiatives like Swachh Bharat, Campaigns on Cashless Transactions, Industrial Fire Safety, Pulse Polio, Afforestation, National Women’s Parliament and Rally for rivers. Health Camps organized in and around Amaravati make them reach out to the public of the slums and rural areas. The health issues are attended upon by the students under the close supervision of qualified doctors and necessary medicines are supplied by the Janaushadhi Medical Store, VIPW for free of cost. At VIPW, education is inclusive as every student believes in contributing to the society.

Moments of Pride

VIPW has achieved many milestones proceeding towards its road to success. In appreciation of services rendered to Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS) in capacity of Organizing Secretary for ERIPSCON 2016-17, Dr. K. Padmalatha, Principal of the institute, has been honored at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of IPSCON – 2017, Mumbai. The institute received the IPA Outstanding Local Branch Award for the year 2017 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. Score More Foundation, a non-profitable organization in AP has bestowed The Indian Star, The Best Emerging College of Pharmacy for Women (2017-18), The Best Emerging Institution in Pharma Education and Woman of Excellence Awards to Dr. K. Padmalatha (2016-17). The institute also received the NEA Award 2015 (National Andhra Pradesh Education Awards), in association with MSME, Government of India and AICTE for Excellent Co-Curricular Activities for Women Students in Andhra Pradesh. Also, Ms. Nowreen Sulthana (2010-2014) received JNTUK (K) Gold Medal for academic excellence.

About the Chairman of the Institute

The Chairman of SRK Foundation, Sri S. Appa Rao Boyapati, B.E. is a visionary educationist. He believes that empowerment of women happens only through education, and to mould them into the change agents of the society educational institutions have to prepare them to take up their chosen roles in tune with the needs of the progressive society. SRK Foundation believes in encouraging young women to choose advanced streams of education and careers, which led to the establishment of Vijaya Group of Institutions for Women in 2008 offering courses in Pharmacy, Engineering and Management, which are flourishing under the able administration of Sri S. Sri Krishna Boyapati, Secretary and Correspondent.
