Rajagiri Educational institutions are located in two campuses. Rajagiri Hill campus is in Kalamasssery and Rajagiri Valley campus is in Kakkanad, in Cochin. Management programmes are in the Valley campus. Rajagiri is owned by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) that runs more than 600 educational institutions across the country. It is the first and largest indigenous Catholic congregation in India that is mostly working for the upliftment of the underprivileged interior areas and development of the deprived.
Rajagiri Business School (RBS) is internationally accredited by ACBSP and Nationally by NBA. It’s a NAAC “A” Level Accredited (score 3.7/4) institution. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, in its latest NIRF ranking survey, has ranked Rajagiri College of Social Sciences as the 25th Best in the country. UGC has bestowed Rajagiri with the “College with Potential for Excellence” Status.
Programmes under Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies:- The department of Business Administration offers two year full time MBA program spread over four semesters and a summer internship leading to a degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA). The department of Personnel Management offers two year full time MHRM program, spread over four semesters and a summer internship leading to a degree in Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM). Both the above courses by Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Rajagiri Business School offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a two year full time program spread over six trimesters and a summer internship. The PGDM course is recognized and approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and is also equalized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) of UGC with MBA of any Indian University.
Rajagiri has a Twinning arrangement with various universities in the USA, Australia and Thailand through its international connections with more than 30 universities across the world. Apart from these, Rajagiri carries out exchange of faculty members and students through Semester or Trimester-based programmes, Summer/Winter Schools, and also for research collaborations with the universities in Belgium, Germany, France, Japan, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, S. Korea, Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand and Nepal.
Business Mentorship with Social Work Orientation
Life at Rajagiri is more than education and knowledge imparted by well qualified faculty. This life is a lesson learned from realities. RCBS offers a total package of model learning through the Rajagiri Immersive Learning Methodology Experience. It comes with four ingenious learning modules. Conceptual Learning (Classes, Seminars, Conferences in subjects / functional areas); Experiential Engagement (Industrial visits and Organisational study); Executive Modelling (Etiquettes and Communication techniques); and Corporate Competency (Internships, Incubation cells, Aptitude Training, etc.).
On the day of induction itself, senior faculty members hand out lit Diyas to the arriving juniors as a symbolic gesture of passing the light of knowledge from one generation to the other. The induction process goes on for three days, during which, eminent people from all walks of life interact with the students. The baton is then passed on to teachers and group leaders who provide proper guidance to the aspirants in the next 2 years. On the Fresher’s day event itself, each newcomer’s talent is discovered and consequently appreciated.
In those 2 years of life at Rajagiri, students get opportunities that help them to implement their practical knowledge in some of the unique activity programmes. One of them is Kalypso, where students participate in various games and building activities which require them to execute the task with limited time and resources. During this 3-day event, students are relocated to a natural environment far from the campus. Another similar event is Vanavasam, where students are taken to a secluded area and activities are carried out that revolve around the JOHARI WINDOW concept. This helps them to discover their hidden capabilities and strengthen their various skills.
At Rajagiri, the students are encouraged to do their part for the less privileged section of the society. Since, Rajagiri began as a professional institution for social work, it consistently involves students in every socially-relevant programme. The Rural Sensitization Camp relocates students to an economically backward area that is resource-deficient, where they carry out a pilot study of the needs of the area and subsequently respond to the study. This concept helps the students to sustain in limited conveniences and learn the realities of life. The social work arm of the management students called Transcend (To Reach out And Nurture Social Commitments and Enable Newer Dimensions) carries out all sorts of social work activities. Of the many events that Transcend conducts, CRYONS is worth mentioning here. It is an event that is arranged for the orphan students from all orphanages in Kerala. Another event worth mentioning is Lantern, which is conducted for the physically handicapped.

Dr. Joseph I. Injodey is the Executive Director of Rajagiri. His areas of interest are mentoring, employee resourcing and counseling. He has proven his proficiency as an accomplished trainer with his experience in carrying out various training sessions in India as well as abroad. His training programmes include “Skills for Counseling for Managers” for the Senior Managers of Bank of Muscat, Oman. He has 25 years of teaching experience at Post Graduate level in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and Loyola College, Chennai. He has travelled extensively across the globe and has even been a visiting international scholar at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan State, USA.
Dr. Injodey has completed his Post Graduation from Loyola College, Chennai and Ph.D. from M.G. University, Kottayam. He is a counselor and a member of the expert panel for employees section in many companies and educational institutions. He has been largely credited for procuring the NAAC Accreditation for Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Cochin and for starting the International Education Programmes at RCSS, Cochin. Rajagiri Vidyapeetham Campus at Kakkanad, Cochin was developed under his supervision. His vast experience in teaching and administration has compelled him to set very high standards for the Centre and supports the progress of the faculty and students through regular training programs and academic inputs.
Hosting Opportunities and Developing Ideal Personalities
Due to its bias towards social service, RCBS guarantees that atleast 10% of their students receive some kind of financial aid. This ranges from Full Scholarship to part scholarship (50-70%).
Around 90% of the graduates from Rajagiri are working in all kinds of industries in different parts of the world. RCBS also encourages entrepreneurship with an on-campus incubation center. This dedicated space provides the essential initial boost for the success of any startup company. In fact, there are multiple companies that are operating from the campus.
Throughout the years, the campus has been a host to various cultural events and festivities that have formed an essential part of the life of a student at Rajagiri. Every year, Rajagiri celebrates almost every festival of the country to promote an ambience of nationalism on the campus. RCBS is quite famous for hosting the largest management fest in the country, called Inflore, in terms of participation and crowd. The best part of Inflore is that it is completely managed by the students and Rajagiri’s own alumni are invited to judge the competitions. FORMS (Forum of Rajagiri Management Students) carries out all extracurricular and sports activities.
Rajagiri National Business Quiz (RNBQ) is the biggest Quiz event in the country from any B school. It is even broadcast on various TV channels, such as CNN-IBN, NDTV and many more every year. It witnesses the largest participation and even offers the largest prize money. The Rajagiri business League is the best professionally-run Basketball tournament in Kerala. The end of the academic period of a student is marked with the graduation day celebrations called Samavartanam, where certificates are distributed by leading industrial or academic luminaries of the country.
