Established in 1988, the institute is situated in the heart of Coimbatore and well connected with road, rail and air transports facilities. It is 2 kms away from International Coimbatore Airport and 10 kms from Railway Junction.

Academic Programs
GRDIM provides two UG Programs, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration – Retail Management, a PG two year full time MBA program with Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Production and System Specializations. PG diploma in Entrepreneurship Development (Part Time) is offered along with MBA (Full Time) and three year part time MBA program.

GRDIM has received numerous valuable accolades for the past period of year. The institute has been re-accredited with the “A” Grade level by the NAAC during December, 2009. In the year 2011, CRISIL rated “A” (TN) to the institute for MBA and MIB Programs. According to Nielsen Survey result 2015, the institute has been selected as one of India’s Best Colleges under the category of Commerce, Science and Arts which was published in INDIA TODAY’s issue.

Dr. D. Padmanaban is the Chairman and Correspondent of the Institute. He holds MBA, Ph.D. in Management. He is a senior educationist who mentors the management, principal, and faculty to generate initiatives and ideas and systems for excellence. Under his strong leadership, the institute has initiated several innovative programs, activities and facilities. He actively provides his valuable guidance in organizing and operationalizing the development activities and improvement programs and motivating the faculty.
Dr. D. Padmanaban has won several renowned awards in the fields of education. He has won Edupreneurs -2015 conferred by the Times of India Group. In the same year, he received Achievement Award presented by His Excellency, the Governor of Tamilnadu. He has also won Lifetime Achievement Award conferred by the World Management Congress, during the 33rd World Management Congress 2012.
Financial Aids and Scholarship
The institute offers various forms of scholarship and financial aid to the poor and needy students. Economically weaker students are helped to get scholarships under the Government schemes and other programs. Needy students also get free or concessional admission as well as helped to avail bank loans. Students who outperformed in sports are offered college scholarship covering the college fees and hostel fees. Some scholarships were started by the Old Students Association which are given on Merit cum Means basis.

The students are given placement training to meet the corporate expectations and prepared to face the real corporate challenges. The institute arranges several guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and training programs to inculcate all necessary skills. Every year, the MBA students take up International Immersion Trip which provides them global exposure. Apart from this, numerous career development programs are conducted for the students to bring out the specific learning outcomes.
