Dr. Mary Hawkins, University President

Dr. Mary Hawkins has been at Bellevue University since 1995, and the institution has experienced record growth with constant innovation to improve students’ success by making education career relevant, accessible and affordable. Under her leadership, Bellevue University was one of the first to offer online learning. They also introduced accelerated cohorts for engaged learning and positive graduation outcomes. She is also credited with the introduction of new degree programs that are designed with practical, relevant learning, providing the professional knowledge and marketable skills to help graduates confidently compete in the workplace.

Dr. Hawkins is a member of several associations including the American Council on Education, the Nebraska Independent College Foundation and the Oracle Education and Research Industry Strategy Council.

Being an avid runner, she puts a great amount of energy and determination to better her community and is not afraid to roll up her sleeves to help get the job done. She serves on various local and national boards, including the Boy Scouts of America, United Way of the Midlands, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Greater Omaha Chamber and the Omaha Business Ethics Alliance.

Cybersecurity

The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity offers an inclusive education in the theory and application of technical and non-technical security skills which covers the relevant knowledge and skills to apply protection, detection, response technologies and procedures. The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated Bellevue University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity. The designation remains in effect through the year 2021.

Bellevue University maintains a high standard in dispersing Business curriculum through programs such as-
