A student’s journey through higher education is, and should be, much more than gaining knowledge. It must include the development of critical skills required to research, evaluate, interpret, and utilize that knowledge to address complex problems. We would like you to meet a university, which is instilling the same- ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE). It is a pioneer higher education university in the private sector. It comprises ICFAI Business School, ICFAI Tech School, and the ICFAI Law School and is a deemed- to-be university under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956. The university has received the NAAC accreditation ‘A+’ grade with an impressive score of 3.43 out of 4.

The outstanding academic infrastructure at IFHE enhances the teaching quality and learning process. All classrooms are equipped with audiovisual tools to enhance the learning experience. The IT infrastructure and library provide the necessary support to the faculty and students to gain knowledge for learning, research, and consultancy. The university has strategic tie-ups with foreign universities promoting academic, research collaboration, and form the base for the visiting scholar program. Further, it has signed various MoUs with leading institutions such as MCX, BSE, NSE, Intelli Group, Genpact, Indian Railways, HDFC bank, etc.

About the Vice-Chancellor

Prof. J Mahender Reddy is the Vice-Chancellor of ICFAI FHE. Under his leadership, the university has contributed to the development of research culture. Consequently, the university was able to secure ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Prof. Reddy holds Master’s degree from the Delhi School of Economics with distinction along with a doctorate in Economics from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He was a Fellow of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Canada. He was Fulbright Fellow at the University of Boston and has been the first Chair in the Indian Ocean Studies of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation, Mauritius. He has published forty research papers and ten books in the areas of foreign trade and investment, business & economic forecasting, and applied economics.

Further, for over three decades, he has taught as the Faculty of Business Administration, at the University of Alberta in Canada, Saint Peter’s College in the United States, Administrative staff College of India, and at the Osmania University. For his teaching, he has been bestowed with the Best Teacher award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Prof. Reddy has also guided 14 PhDs, nine M.Phil scholars, and students of ICFAI University. He has also served as the external examiner for evaluation of doctoral dissertations in several state and central Indian universities.

Infrastructure:

The campus life at the university is spread across 92 acres in an eco-friendly city of Hyderabad. It is equipped with facilities such as dining halls, indoor and outdoor sports, and recreational facilities. The university boasts of transport facility and clinics with two beds, two ambulances, and four doctors.

Student Life:

The student community at ICFAI is truly diverse. Students come from different states, social, cultural backgrounds, and lifestyles. They become a part of the community and get an unparalleled exposure to different cultures, languages, and ways of living. The institute believes in keeping student activities at the core of the philosophy of management education. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are very much part of the day to day life at the campus. You will also come across activities related to sports, socio-cultural events, which are organized throughout the year.

ICFAI has a culture of inspiration and creativity. The university is constantly monitoring the competitive landscape to identify knowledge gaps. After findings, the institute bridges them so that the students are exposed to the latest happenings in emerging areas. The university tries to address all these gaps through a pragmatic curriculum, which is designed keeping the industry in mind.

Students learn, inquire, question, and criticize every stage with a clear intent to meet the changing environment and industry expectations. Case-study approach further help students to think through corporate problems independently. Moreover, simulations in marketing courses aid students in gaining hands-on experience in developing strategies. Its multicultural environment enables students to understand the importance of getting along with each other. They can contribute while working on group projects or presentations. Additionally, there is extra focus on student engagement and development activities through various clubs. This enables students to exploit their potential fully.

Fabricating Industry-Ready Students

ICFAI offers students many opportunities to interact with the industry experts and recruiters. According to the university, these sessions help students in identifying knowledge gaps and take remedial step in filling the same. Students and industry interaction happens regularly and experts are invited to be members of Board of Studies.

The 12-week Summer Internship Program form an integral part of the education. At university, the students learn a lot about the corporate life. The education is imparted in such a way that the students acquire theoretical, analytical, technical, and research skills besides being industry-ready. Ultimately, the students are honed with capabilities and entrepreneurship skills all the while being receiving pre-placement offers.
