Established in the suburbs of Ambala City, Maharishi Markandeshwar University’s (M.M. University) vision is ‘Shaping Future’. Since its inception in 2010, the university has been striving to bring a new life to the educational system. A pre-eminent institution for higher education, M.M. University is spread over 44 acres and boasts of an excellent infrastructure. Being legislated under the Haryana Govt Act No. 29, of 2010 and created under the provisions of Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006, the University has approval from Directorate of Higher Education, Haryana, PCI, COA and recognition by UGC for awarding degrees under section 22 of UGC Act, 1956.

It was the vision of Dr. Tarsem Garg, Chancellor of M.M. University that has brought this university the glory it enjoys. Dr. Garg aimed at delivering knowledge. Coming from a humble background, Dr. Garg made his mission to do something worthwhile for the children belonging to rural hinterland and small towns of Haryana. In 1993, going forward with his goals, he established the Maharishi Markandeshwar Education Trust, now known as Maharishi Markandeshwar Trust. Under his dynamic leadership, the MM Group of Institutions has become one of the nation’s most reputed educational groups which commands respect for its state-of-the-art infrastructure & expert faculty. These institutions have broadened the horizons of millions of youth and enriched them with their culture of excellence, social service and inclusiveness. Today the university has been accredited with Grade ‘B’ by NAAC and has been placed 3rd amongst top 10 emerging universities of India by Higher Education Review Magazine.

Giving equal importance to fun, competence, sports and any other activity that enhances and encourages students to soar higher, the university takes initiative to offer its students the right platform. Keeping that in mind it has established a sports academy namely Yuvraj Singh Cricket Academy that helps students achieve glory in sports along with academics.
The transportation structure here is smartly planned and highly efficient. The transportation network of the university commutes from stations in 80 km radius of the campus including cities like Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Chandigarh, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal etc. and other stations in between. The other facilities of the university include easy money transaction with the help of the nationalized bank branch and an ATM within the university. It also has a well-equipped hostel that gives students ‘at home’ feeling. These hostels provide all amenities for comfortable and enjoyable stay of the students. A full-fledged Wi-Fi campus, solar power plant for producing and in return helping in reducing the carbon footprint, are the other attractions. Having own dispensary run by qualified medical officers and an infirmary equipped with medicines and first aid has again put the university at the top. The university is also aided by the services of a multi-specialty hospital by the same trust at Mullana.

The university is proud and boasts of the faculty having a research experience from Ivy League colleges of the country like IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, NIT Kurukshetra, IIM Lucknow etc. Some of the prominent faculty achievements are:-
- Manoj Kumar of Applied Science Department published two Patent vide No. 2416/DEL/2013A titled, “A hydrazone Schiff base Ligand and Method Thereof” and 1177/DEL/2014 titled, “A detergent powder and method Thereof”.
- Cheshta Kashyap of Management Department was awarded the Best Presentation Award at IIT Roorkee for her paper titled, “A Study on the Bubbles of Stock Markets”.
M.M. University’s greatest achievement is its academic excellence and the vast exposure it offers to the students. The undergraduate programs offered under this university include streams Agriculture ( Hons. and Integrated Hons ), Pharmacy, Architecture, commerce, design, Journalism and Mass Communication, Business Administration (Specialization in Brand Management & Communication and in Financial Services), Computer Application (Specialization in Cloud Technology and Information Security and in Web Technology and Mobile Application ), and Performing Arts. The post-graduation programs offered here include M.Sc. in Agriculture (Specialization in Agronomy and Entomology), Masters in Architecture, and Masters in English, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
