Replicating the same is the Modern College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Ganeshkhind, which is committed to generate and provide the best of opportunities to students from all corners of communities and socio-economic strata. Established in 1992 with sole strength of 120 students with two traditional courses, today it has reached a milestone with 5000+ students on a roll under 21 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate and doctoral programs.

In commerce education, the college offers B.Com in Banking & Finance, Business Environment and Entrepreneurship, Cost & Works Accounting, Marketing and M.com in Business Administrator & Advanced Accounting. Its programs are affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University and enjoy the approval of all the affiliating university and Government of Maharashtra. It is recognized under 2f and 12B of UGC and has successfully completed the accreditation by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade.
For its high-quality education, the college has been awarded highly prestigious Star Status from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The college is supported under the FIST program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Further, it has won State Level Award for Excellence in Energy Conservation and Management by Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for recognizing the college as a Green Educational Institute. And, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vanashree Award by Department of Social Forestry, Government of Maharashtra for the contribution towards Students’, Women Welfare and Environment initiative through Plant Nursery, Tree Plantation and Afforestation drive.

About the Chairman and Principal
A dynamic personality fueled by the desire for pedagogical purists, Dr. G. R. Ekbote, leads the college as its Chairman. A surgeon by profession, Dr. Ekbote made his foray into the world of administration in 1985. Keeping his keen eyes and being in line with the industry, he has introduced emerging and need-based courses in the institution. It is the direct result of his pro-active approach and farsightedness that he has been successfully leading 58 educational institutions in Pune.
Leveraging 28 years of teaching experience, Sanjay S. Kharat leads the college as it Principal. He holds B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Zoology and LL.B & MBA. He is an expert in the areas of Fish Biology, Fish Taxonomy, Ecology, Conservation & Management, Academic Administration, and Animal Physiology. He is a die-hard academician and instrumental in instilling a strong sense of discipline among staff and students but also given them adequate freedom in thought and action in order to achieve immense creativity in the field of education.

Modern College resides just opposite to the prestigious S. P. Pune University. Owing to its urban location, the college has made optimum use of its campus. The college has augmented its infrastructure with various facilities such as ICT enabled classrooms, a well-stocked library, an ultra-modern restroom, well-equipped laboratories, hi-tech computer laboratories, a computerized administrative office, gymnasium, basketball & volleyball courts, and other facilities like canteen and parking. The college has a Botanical Garden and a 15 KW Solar-Wind Hybrid power generation plant to generate non-conventional energy resources and reduce carbon footprint. Vital Exposure and Excellent Career Opportunities
The college has an exceptional Placement Cell, which organizes various activities to enhance the employment opportunities for the UG and PG students. These include conducting aptitude tests, seminars, group discussions, guest lecturers by the industry experts and soft skill workshop. Along with these pre-placement activities, every year the Cell organizes a job fair in association with the Board of Student Development, Savitribai Phule Pune University. This job fair is open to all and gives opportunities to students for employment in different companies. Additionally, guest lecture sessions are organized throughout the year on resume writing, personality development, interview techniques, email writing, corporate etiquette, career opportunities in Banking and related services, Insurance, Sales and Marketing, Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship Development. For the effective placement of the students, the placement committee invites companies for campus placement. The student database is promoted to the industry or company as per the relevant requirement.
